“Winter”

Pew Runners - Winter

Created December 2015

Even though we had an awful wet winter, we wanted to depict the snowy fields, hills and golden skies along with all the animals that live in and around our village during the winter months. This is the theme for the Winter runner.

A background of grey pre-felt was covered with merino wool.  The animals and trees were made of pre-felts, detail added by needle felting.
Animals include a badger, a pair of deer, a fox, a leaping hare, a hibernating door mouse and hedgehog, along with flocks of sheep and of course a red squirrel.

Birds that can be found are a robin, a wren, a pheasant, a blackbird, a buzzard a hovering owl and a paddling of ducks.

Black silhouetted trees complete the winter scene.
