Castlerigg Stone Circle, Dacre Church, and Mayburgh Henge
Our first visit of the summer sees us remain fairly local.
Presenters: Paul Lewis, Chair of the Cumbria Vernacular Buildings Group
Paul will lead a visit to look at the interior of Asby Rectory, almost certainly, the most interesting building in Great Asby, with evidence of phases of construction from the 14th to the 19th Century.
Paul is a Historic Buildings Consultant, with long experience with the National Trust and in private conservation practice, so he will be an expert guide to help us understand the building.
The plan is that we will meet at the Rectory at 11am on Wednesday, June 12 and end with a sandwich lunch at 1pm in the Three Greyhounds.
