We will be working with local landowners to identify small areas of land that can be used to plant trees or hedges. Occasional requests will go out to members, seeking volunteers to survey areas of land to assess the age and health of trees and to identify possible planting areas, as well as to take part in planting trees and hedges. These activities will normally be scheduled to last for no more than three hours.
The Tree Group has insurance to cover members carrying out these activities.
A membership form can be downloaded here,

Unfortunately Covid-19 has not gone away, and we still want everyone to feel safe whilst being able to enjoy the film.
“HIDDEN FIGURES” is the incredible untold story of Katherine G. Johnson , Dorothy Vaughan and Mary Jackson, brilliant African-American women working at NASA. They served as the brains behind one of the greatest operations in history: the launch of astronaut John Glenn into orbit, a stunning achievement that restored the nation’s confidence, turned around the Space Race, and galvanized the world. The visionary trio crossed all gender and race lines to inspire generations to dream big.
O Brother, Where Art Thou? Love this film & the music
Turner with Timothy Spall

“BRIDGE of SPIES” (2015)
Those of us ‘of an age’ will remember the case of Gary Powers the U2 spy plane pilot shot down over the USSR. This film covers the complex attempts to repatriate him to the USA.
Despite its title I would categorise this as a political rather than spy thriller. To my mind it features an outstanding performance from Mark Rylance (Thomas Cromwell in the BBC’s dramatisation of ‘Wolf Hall’) as the Soviet spy earmarked to be exchanged for Powers. Rylance won an Oscar, and several other awards for his performance.
Tom Hanks also stars in this Steven Spielberg movie.
